The title is what I called out from the floor of my bedroom last year as I shrieked with laughter. Somehow, for some reason, UCLA slept through a play late in the game. It was a meltdown worthy of Michigan State. Except Michigan State collapsed gradually, and we got to see them wither. UCLA had beaten us for the entire game, we couldn't move the ball at all, and then Brady Quinn moved it 80 yards in 3 plays. I saved the U-tube link on my computer at work. The highlights don't do the memory justice. We had been hopeless for 58 minutes, and like the Phoenix we explode in brilliance.
Needless to say, UCLA wanted some payback and a lego-my-ego Notre Dame team was going to give it to them. So it seemed. And then Notre Dame wins 20-6.
What did I see? NOTHING. ABC decided the country would rather watch Ohio-State vs Purdue and Cincinnati-Rutgers then see a winless ND team. Fine. They also decided to stay with that game even as OSU was shutting out Purdue 23-0 in the 4th qtr. Wonderful. I guess Notre Dame fans are spoiled and are used to seeing every game. I also think that those stations want us to buy their direct-tv dish network football college package or whatever it is.

The Cardinal Comeback.
Well, I had privately hoped for an undefeated USC to take on a winless Notre Dame in a couple weeks. Nope. Congrats to Stanford for pulling off that upset when everyone, myself included, gave them no chance. I believe Vegas made them a a 40 point underdog. Anyone can bet sports in hindsight, but I would have liked some of that action.
Our strength of schedule isn't affected as Notre Dame plays Stanford, which I guess we can agree is no easy win.

The American Dad is doing great this year. Extra fun was that tonight's episode played the song by Andrea True. If you were with me on 2006, I prided myself in not knowing her name, but a certain reader decided to post it on the very entry where I mentioned that.
